Systems Data Analyst

*Systems Data Analyst – up to £425/ day – Epsom (some travel involved) – 5-month initial contract*

We are looking for a Systems Data Analyst to work on on medium to large projects covering the end-to-end lifecycle of the project. The purpose of this varied role is to take responsibility for the seamless data and integration aspects of our systems delivery. The role will work within project teams from initiation and bridge the gap between the business SME and their knowledge of the business process and the IT environment (specific to the project’s data and integration needs). The role will work closely with any 3rd party technical resource during all aspects of the project i.e. data analysis, migrations and integrations, to validate the data and ensure it is in line with the business process. This role will require a very good level of technical skills and the technical ability to query databases to answer business questions and resolve data challenges. This role will support the PM from a technical standpoint and feed in to the planning of the technical elements of the project i.e. cutovers, migrations, integrations etc.

Key responsibilities:

  • Data and Integration Analysis
  • Technical liaison on requirements for data migration and integration matters between the business, any suppliers and the development team.
  • Analyse and gain a full understanding of data structures of current systems and to be systems for a given project (deep dive into the application databases (both old and new) to fully understand the structure and quality of the data)
  • Provide input to help define data migration strategy for the project
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and to facilitate any issues or questions
  • Document data mappings between current and new systems for project
  • Support Test Lead to define and manage data migration test exercise for projects, including defining the data migration test scripts and execute these during the test phase and cutovers.
  • Manage any integration testing inputs and outputs, produce reports and liaise with appropriate stakeholders
  • Work with technical team to facilitate any data migration activity
  • Work with technical team to facilitate any integration work required
  • Work closely with the business stakeholders to discuss complex data process queries in a manner that is easily understood.
  • Queries the application database (both old and new) to answer project related queries and works with the vendors to resolve data related issues.
  • Supports the business analyst in regards to the fulfilment of any data and integration requirements
  • Project Delivery
  • Provide project support in terms of technical input in to the planning for various phases of the project i.e. testing, migrations, integrations, cutovers etc
  • Convey technical requirements and design to the delivery team and project stakeholders in a manner that will be understood by the target audience.
  • Support testing team throughout project lifecycle to ensure the test plan is being followed and any escalations required can be dealt with.
  • Support the business throughout the project lifecycle to test their solutions ensuring process/system changes will integrate effectively into the overall business process regarding any data or integration.
  • Technical input into project changes and executing impact assessments from a technical standpoint.
  • Input in to the service transition to BAU from a technical standpoint.
  • Provide technical post go live support by liaising with key stakeholders and vendors
  • Where required, produce relevant system documentation for delivery of a project.

Required skills and experience:

  • Experience in a Senior Business Analysis role with experience across the full analysis change process including: identifying, defining and implementing IT enablers.
  • Experience in a data analysis role using a relational database querying language (i.e. SQL) to a level where you are confident in querying a database to elicit the required information to make data driven decisions for the project.
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Experience of project testing and the key phases involved.
  • End to end experience of being on large/enterprise projects.
  • Experience in projects which have complex cutovers, migrations and integrations.
  • Strong interest in the health and wellbeing business
  • Awareness of business and data analysis tools and techniques such as requirements elicitation, structured analysis and design, process mapping and component business modelling, business process re-engineering.
  • Ability to learn and adopt different technology techniques and processes.
  • Excellent IT and business communication (verbal, written and listening), social and influencing skills.
  • Understands project plans and is able to clearly articulate roles, project goals, and timelines.
