IT Change Manager

IT Change Manager – remote – 3 months – outside IR35

The IT Change Manager will be involved in all aspects of change management to enable the successful delivery of change whilst ensuring adherence to the defined IT Change Management process. Changes will be inclusive of complex application updates through to small emergency fix changes. The role will also entail the co-ordination and tracking of any Problems highlighted through the defined IT Problem Management process.

The right candidate should be proactive, have the ability to take responsibility for the execution of all tasks assigned to them whilst using their own initiative to highlight and drive forward areas for process improvement without the requirement for frequent guidance.

Main Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Carry out quality assessment of each change raised to ensure required level of detail is clear
  • Ensure business approval and communications are in place for any system outages as part of a change
  • Review all implemented changes to ensure that they have met their objective
  • Facilitate and conduct Post Implementation Review on any unsuccessful changes
  • Review and highlight any outstanding changes that have passed the scheduled start date
  • Act as Change Management point of contact for all Key Stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Change Management team and educate/train local teams as required
  • Represent local teams at wider change forums as required
  • Interface and work with Delivery teams to provide stability of service
  • Drive Service Improvement for Change and Problem to meet organisation goals and objectives in line with audit requirements
  • Review and track any problems raised through the Problem Management process
  • Facilitate weekly problem management meetings with key stakeholders
  • Ensure metrics and reporting relating to Change Management and Problem Management are in place and completed for input into the MOR

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Has 5 – 7 years of experience in an Application delivery environment with direct experience in Change and Problem Management
  • Understanding of Change Management including status, risks and deployment activities
  • Ability to review facts and escalate issues with recommendations and contingencies
  • Proactive and persuasive with the ability to drive teams to deliver problem resolution
  • Capable of translating technical concepts into common-sense business language
  • Confident when interfacing with internal and external users, at all levels
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
  • Demonstrate accuracy and possess a keen eye for detail
  • Competent user of Microsoft office applications like Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of or experience in working in a multicultural/global setting
  • Strong interest in personal development
  • Knowledge of Service Management tools such as HPSM beneficial
  • A solid understanding of ITIL is desirable
