International Head of IT / IT Lead – London – £140,000- 150,000 base salary plus 30% bonus and £8,000 car allowance

The Head of IT provides strategic and operational direction for planning, designing, implementing and maintaining every facet of IT for the countries and businesses in his/her purview.

The successful candidate will work very closely with leadership teams across Europe and Africa, and will be directly involved in outlining and achieving the organization’s strategic business and technology goals.

The IT Lead will integrate several IT functions into a borderless organization that leverages global resources in support of a rapidly growing business plan that requires creative and nimble solutions that are also highly secure and sufficiently scalable. All in-region IT resources will have a direct or matrixed reporting relationship to this role. Drive Cultural transformation and position IT as a proactive business partner.

Scale of the Role

  • Reports to: CIO/Head of IT for International Markets
  • Key Matrix Partners: Manage all country IT leads on daily basis, including performance appraisals, coaching, mentoring, and feedback; Lead team of 250+ resources; Manage key relationships across IM IT and Global IT to optimize delivery of shared services like Architecture, Integration, CyberSecurity, Sourcing, Infrastructure, etc.
  • Financial Responsibility: Oversee budget of $25M+

Professional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related field.
  • 10 – 15 years’ experience in senior IT leadership roles with demonstrated success in use of accountability and sound decision making. Must have 3-5 years’ experience managing multiple countries, preferably in Europe and/or the Middle East.
  • Strategic thinker and respected for business knowledge and ability to leverage opportunities through the implementation of emerging technologies, with a long-term, big picture view
  • Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure, and a background in designing/developing IT systems and delivering multi-faceted IT implementations
  • Ability to clearly articulate competitive landscape from an IT context (e.g. opportunities, challenges, competitive context and client needs)
  • Ability to work with non-IT colleagues, build relationships by establishing and maintaining a strong understanding, rapport, bond and trust between individuals
  • Must have a track record of holding him/herself accountable for all aspects of managing an IT organization, including those aspects that require heavy influencing rather than direct control
  • Accomplished team builder, motivator, coach and mentor
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks or projects to align delivery with the strategic objectives and with business goals
  • Thorough understanding of operational support processes with excellent business acumen, and the technology implications of same
  • Proven record of building and maintaining high performing teams within defined headcount and budget limits
  • Proven history of thriving in a fast-paced environment, while dealing with ambiguity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • International/global experience and appreciation of foreign cultures and markets
