SAP MM/Purchasing Consultant / DERBY / £500-£600ppd


  • 5 to 10 years SAP MM/Purchasing experience
  • 3 life cycles completed: high-level and detailed design, testing, super-user education, go live preparation, handover to support
  • Ability to work across all levels of the customer base including senior management and senior business leaders
  • Ability to coach and mentor the customer team
  • Knowledge of SAP Logistics Organisation Structure Design and an ability to guide senior customer representatives through the design issues to deliver a solution which meets the business requirements.
  • Knowledge of SAP Sourcing, Material Master, Supplier Master, Requisitioning, Purchase Order Management, MRP-driven Requirements, Vendor Assessment, Logistics Invoice Verification, Inventory Movements, Stock Types and Stock Ownership, Project driven requirements, Project valuated stock.
  • Knowledge of detailed system configuration. Ability to use this knowledge to define the high-level and detailed design options.
  • Ability to facilitate the client making choices which most suitably meet their business requirements.

Further Detail

  • Experience of integrating SAP MM/PUR into other areas of SAP logistics and into SAP FICO.
  • Experience of definition of MM/PUR functionality extension and definition of interfacing requirements to non-SAP systems.
  • Experience of testing of functionality extensions and interfaces.
  • Experience of ERP6.
  • Experience of the application of SAP MM/PUR in a manufacturing, engineering or process environment.
  • Candidates should ideally have experience of working in a business logistics role.

The successful candidate will undertake the following activities:

  • Business requirements review and identification of both Business and solution improvements.
  • High level and detailed MM Purchasing design
  • System build including detailed MM Purchasing configuration
  • Supporting customers in the definition of new job roles and in changes to existing job roles.
  • Education of Superusers
  • Workshop facilitation and leadership
  • Definition of functionality extensions, interfaces into and out of MM
  • Unit and Integration Testing
  • Support definition and delivery of data migration.
  • Support definition and delivery of implementation cut-over activities.
  • Initial post go live support

Education and Experience

  • Experience preferred, but not essential, of the SAP MM/Purchasing in Aerospace and Defence.
  • Degree education preferred.
