Cloud Environment Support Consultant /North East /3 months / £350 – £400ppd

This solution comprises mainly Linux based applications and Database Servers including “testing from anywhere” such as Windows XP/7 desktops/laptops and thin desktops, phone apps and tablets. Responsible for supporting all deliverables including Server and Workstation builds, Active Directory, Group Policies, Security control applications, Databases and a variety of COTS and bespoke applications.

Day to Day responsibilities

Working closely with the client Build Team and other 3rd parties to provide Test Environment support.

  • Pro-active monitoring of the test systems and address any abnormalities
  • Early Morning Checks to ensure the service is fit for start of Testing
  • Analyzing trends with logs and errors and raising associated defects where relevant
  • Running appropriate scripts following the environment build to pipe clean and commission prior to handover to the test teams
  • Creation of scripts and routines that will benefit the environment.
  • Documentation of processes
  • Ensuring that the Batch Schedule runs successfully and providing any support required.
  • Reviewing internal and client documentation
  • Impacting Change Requests and providing potential solutions where appropriate
  • Identification & reporting of issues and risks.
  • Experience of software package delivery tools.
  • Experience of Operational Acceptance Testing policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication/reporting skill.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analysis skills and the ability to work with other suppliers to pin point errors and describe them to the customer.
  • Flexible approach as the role will require additional hours or a flexible working pattern which may include some weekend working
  • Ensure environments are available and ready to use as per the agreed plan.
  • To act as a mentor to new team members
